Minister OTAFIRE  Cautions  Lango Against Electing Political Losers As He Rallies Massive Support  To Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng

Lìra, Uganda: Minister of Internal Affairs, Rt Maj General Kanida Otafire has urged people of lango to refrain from re-electing leaders who have not made remarkable contributions to development. 

The bush war general expressed this during the installation ceremony of Lira City’s woman MP as the patron of the Lango Bodaboda group "LUMBA" at Lira Town College playground.

 He emphasized the importance of retaining leaders like Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, explaining that she her benefits not only to the people of Lira and Lango but to the entire nation. 

As a senior member of the NRM government, Otafire praised Dr. Aceng for her outstanding contributions to Uganda. "I urge the people of Lango and Lira to take pride in Dr. Aceng; her achievements in just a few years as your MP are unparalleled," he stated. 

Otafire also encouraged continued support for the NRM party and cautioned against electing individuals based solely on political affiliations or clan ties. The event attracted hundreds of attendees, with Otafire serving as the chief guest. 

Regarding UPC's Betty Amongi's move  to Lira City, he criticized her and called on the residents to hold her accountable for her previous tenure in Oyam South, where she claimed to be on a development mission in Lira. 

In a show of solidarity, UPC MP for Oyam District, Honourable Santa Alum Ogwang, also withdrew her support for Amongi in Lira City, urging residents to vote for Minister Aceng, whom she commended as a diligent MP and Minister. Alum, who is well-respected in the community, expressed the desire for Dr. Jane to remain in Parliament, despite her non-affiliation with UPC. 

James Olobo Dubai, MP for Kyoga County, also voiced his support for Dr. Aceng. Meanwhile, Moses Okori, Chairperson of LUMBA, explained the rationale behind selecting Dr. Jane Aceng as their patron and announced plans to support Bodaboda  stages in  in Lira City with a contribution of 200,000 UGX. 

Lawrence Egole, the RCC of Lira, expressed gratitude to the Ugandan government for the developmental progress made in the Lango sub-region.
