BIG NEWS IN LIRA; Brooks Pre-School–Lira Celebrates End of Term with Sports, Talent & Academic Excellence

Lira City, Uganda: Parents, teachers and learners at Brooks Pre-School in Lira City on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, gathered for a colourful end-of-term celebration that combined entertainment, sports, talent development, academic recognition and reflection on learners’ progress throughout the term.

The celebration, held at the school premises along Police Road, gave Parents had an opportunity to interact with teachers, participate in activities and watch their children demonstrate talents and skills beyond the classroom.

A major highlight of the event was a World Cup-themed football match, with learners divided into two teams, Argentina and Spain, inspired by the two national teams that contested the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

The football match gave the young learners an opportunity to demonstrate teamwork, discipline, confidence, leadership and sportsmanship while enjoying a fun-filled sporting experience.

The celebration also featured a range of sporting and recreational activities, including golf, bucket volleyball, badminton, table tennis and cone-dressing games.

Parents did not remain spectators. They actively joined the activities and competed against teachers in several games, creating a lively atmosphere and strengthening the bond between the school and the families.

The participation of parents and teachers was particularly welcomed by learners, who cheered them on during the various competitions.

The activities were designed not only for entertainment but also to promote physical fitness, cooperation, creativity, confidence and social interaction among young learners.
