Excitement engulfs Lira as Centenary Bank Shifts into a New State-of-the-art banking facility

Residents of Lira City and Lango sub region have been left very excited following the unveiling of the new premises of the Centenary Bank.

A magnificent-strategically located premise sits of Plot 17, Isaya Ogwang-Guzi road-opposite Lira City Mayors Garden.

The specious premise was commissioned  by the bishop of Lira Catholic diocese, Rt. Rev. Sanctus Lino Wanok, after the clerical blessing.

Bernard Muhabuzi, the regional manager of Centenary bank said the new building is a testament of the commitment by the bank to improving quality of the services offered to the clients.

He said there major intentions is always to see that whenever they operate, they work well with the community and ensure they are transformed financially into a more safe-trusted sustaining kind of setting.

“We have decided to unveil bigger, better, convenient, safer space for the banking environment within Lira and the surrounding areas. As we operate now, we have been able to bank close to 80.000 people within customers within our Lira city branch and even over 10.000 people take on credit facilities to be able to finance their projects,” said the regional manager.

Across the country, he said the bank has over 3.5million customers currently enjoying the Centenary bank services.

He revealed that currently, In Lango, they have seriously embarked on training the rural community in financial literacy and extended the banking services to the rural areas with the aim of improving the economy of the region.

 Bishop of Lira diocese Sanctus Lino Wanok who was the main celebrant at the event to commission the new facility, asking the bank staff that will use the facility to be approachable and follow the will of God that has called them to be the bankers.

The bishop also warned them against corruption encouraging the Centenary bank staff to observe the motto of this county For God and My Country.

Lira Branch manager Felix Esiru urged the Lira City Council to consider improving the status of the roads neighboring since the area will being attracting a lot of traffic as many will be seeking services from the facility.

Lira City East Division deputy RCC, Steven Odongo assured the bank their commitment to improve the security of the area that was formally known for insecurity caused by the street gangs. He thank Lira Catholic diocese for transforming the idea into an actual development and putting up a magnificent build for Centenary Bank.

Mayor of Lira City, Sam Atul welcome the development on behalf of the community of Lira City and the local government leadership in Lango, promising commitment to offer necessary support to the bank to extend the financial literacy training to the rural community.
