Erute North: MP HOPEFUL Patrick Ongom Vows To Liberate Community From Poverty

LIRA, UGANDA: The community of Erute North has found renewed hope following the declaration of youthful politician Patrick Ongom, also known as Ongom Aregedyang for Mp seat.
Recently, residents expressed their excitement about Ongom's decision to run for the Member of Parliament seat in 2026.
Susan Ayo, a mother of three, shared her joy about having their own son contesting. She said Ongom has been actively involved in the community.
She encouraged Ongom to prioritize the needs of mothers if he is elected to Parliament, saying that many politicians often overlook women's contributions to community development.
Ayo also added, Ongom as an experienced politician while deliver success in their area .
Denis Opio from Aromo Subcounty also expressed his gratitude towards Ongom. Currently, Ongom is engaging with the community to gather their opinions and concerns a head of the general election.
In his media adress, Mp hopeful Ongom said one of the main issues in Erute North is lack of coordination among leaders, which has resulted into poor service delivery.
He added he will also collaborate with NGO, stakeholders and government to combat poverty in the area among the communty.
" I will focus on leveraging, developing, and scaling promising ideas to benefit my people. My primary objective is to expand opportunities, support skill and human capital development, establish smart infrastructure for healthcare, education, and agriculture, and empower our youth through high-impact initiatives, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization to achieve substantial results"
Known for his strong leadership backgrounds, Ongom has made significant contributions during his time as a district councillor in Lira District Council, he helped into the establishement ofvAgweng Town council and subcounties in Erute North while serving in the district council.
Ongom has been actively supporting education and healthcare in the area including extending assistance to the community both during grave moments and celebrations.
Erute North is currently being represented by Christine Akello ( NRM).
This publication has learnt that Honourable Ongom will participate in NRM primaries to secure party card a head of the main election.
About NRM Ongom
In 2011 to 2016, Ongom was a member of Lira District Council as representative of people of Angweng Sub-county, he was elected under NRM ticket.
He also served with different non governmental organization aftet leaving district council leadership to give time to nextwork and prepare adequately for his people.
In 2021, Politician Ongom actively participated and moblise votes for president Museveni during the general election.
