LIRA  LC5 Chair Okello Orik Comfirms Construction Of  District Headquarter In Ogur

Lira, Uganda : Addressing the media in his office on Thursday morning, Lira district chairman ,Richard C M Okello Orik, confirmed siad court has dismissed a case against the construction of Lira district headquarters base in Ogur sub county and there is no more course for alarm.

The construction of Lira District Local Gov't headquarters located on 65 hectares of land in Ogur is estimated at a cost of Shs 10 billion according to district officials.

" We don't have any obstacle as of now shs1 Billion was given by the government to start the construction. He said the Geo thecinical survey and the physical planning is going to be handled by CAO Ocengel Ismail in Kampala soon and will not take more than a week from the time of this publication." 

Orik added "The structural plan is already drawn for the construction of the headquarters that will be a storeyed " 

He assured the media that the Government of Uganda has confirmed a release of shs 1billion start up capital to be budgeted for in 2024/25 financial year.

The vice chairman of Lira district Local government Boney Omara welcomes the development as a way forward for Lira district moving towards development.

Another councilor who preferred anonimity assured the media that Lira LCV Chairman Okello Orik is a hard working leader who has made a number of service delivery in the district successful.

Almost all the sub-counties in Lira district wholeheartedly without segregation.

Additionally, community of Erute North are excited the news of putting a district headquarter in Ogur.
