President Museveni Sets to Commission Akii-Bua Olympic Stadium Construction On Wednesday

Lira, Uganda: The Luo Natives | President Museveni is set to officially inaugurate the construction of the Akiibua Olympic Memorial Stadium in Lira City tomorrow. The project has been awarded to SAMCO International, an Egyptian firm. Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, who also serves as the woman member of parliament for Lira City, confirmed that the President will commission the stadium on his second day in the region.
The Akiibua Memorial Stadium is being constructed in honor of the late John Akii-Bua, recognizing his contributions to global sports. This initiative aligns with President Museveni's commitment made during the 2021 elections to develop a modern sport facility in Lango. Throughout this week, President Museveni will be in Lango to engage with stakeholders on key developmental issues and will also visit beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model (PDM).

12:30pm – Chief guest at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Akii-Bua Olympic Stadium. Lira City.
2.30pm- Meet the Leaders from Lango sub-region at Ikwera BOMA ground play ground in Aduku
town council, Kwania North, Kwania district.
