TODAY IN FOCUS ! Erute North MP-Elect ONGOM ARENDENG Joins Lango Community to Celebrate Gen. Muhoozi’s Birthday in Lira 

Erute North MP-elect Patrick Ongom Arendeng today joined residents of Lango at Mayor’s Garden in Lira City to celebrate the birthday of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), also chair of Patriotic League Uganda , Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The celebrations, which featured a marathon aimed at fundraise to support vulnerable communities especially orphans, children at babies homes, attracted participants from across the Lango sub-region. 

Ongom, a youthful politician aligned with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and a promoter of the Patriotic League of Uganda in Lango, led a delegation from Erute North to take part in the celebrations.

Speaking after the event, Ongom called on Ugandans to embrace what he described as Gen. Muhoozi’s “good leadership,” highlighting his role in promoting professionalism and discipline within the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).

He wished the CDF a happy birthday and many more years of service to the country.

In an interview with Luo Native after completing a 10-kilometre birthday run, Ongom said his participation was a gesture of appreciation for what he termed Muhoozi’s patriotism, commitment to national development, and stance against corruption. He also commended the people of Lango for turning up in large numbers to celebrate.

Other leaders present, including Lira Resident City Commissioner Lawrence Egole, praised Ongom for his support. Egole mentioned Ongom among several contributors, alongside figures such as Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng and Ambassador Rebecca Amuge Otengo.

The event was attended by RDCs from other districts in Lango like Amolatar, Kwania, Apac, Oyam, Kole Zillan Akullu, Alebtong deputy RDC Lutwuma , and assistant RDCs.

Youth leaders like, Benjamin Otengo from Alebtong also brought delegation from his district for celebrations.
