We Arrested Elweru's Personal Witchdoctor Claiming To Be A pastor. Yet He Worships The Devil. The noose is tightening- Gen Muhoozi Shares
Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has made fresh allegations involving retired Lieutenant General Peter Elwelu, claiming that security operatives have arrested a man he describes as the former army officer’s personal witchdoctor. The announcement has added another development to the growing public discussion surrounding the retired general.
In a post shared on his official X account on October 31, 2026, Muhoozi said the alleged witchdoctor had been arrested the previous day. He claimed that the suspect presents himself as a pastor but is involved in activities he described as devil worship.
“Yesterday, we arrested Elweru's personal witchdoctor. He claims to be a pastor. Yet he is worshipping the devil every day. The noose is tightening,” Muhoozi posted.
The CDF did not reveal the name of the arrested individual or provide details about where the operation took place. He also did not explain the specific offences the suspect is accused of committing, leaving several questions unanswered about the circumstances surrounding the alleged arrest.
Muhoozi’s statement comes amid growing attention surrounding Gen Elwelu, who has recently featured in public discussions following reports of disagreements with sections of the current military leadership. The latest claims have added another layer to the unfolding developments involving the retired senior officer.
Particular attention has been drawn to Muhoozi’s words that “the noose is tightening”, which appear to suggest that more developments could follow. However, the military chief did not explain whether the alleged arrest forms part of a wider investigation or whether other individuals are being pursued.
The announcement has also generated questions about the alleged relationship between the arrested man and Gen Elwelu. So far, Muhoozi has not presented publicly verifiable evidence establishing the man's alleged connection to the retired general, and the suspect has not been identified or given an opportunity to respond to the accusations.
The developments are likely to keep Gen Elwelu's situation in the public spotlight as Ugandans await further clarification from security authorities. It remains unclear whether formal charges have been filed against the alleged witchdoctor or whether officials will release additional information about the operation.
For now, Muhoozi’s statement is the main publicly reported account of the alleged arrest. Whether more details will emerge about the suspect, the accusations against him and any possible connection to Gen Elwelu remains to be seen.
