‘Be Courageous Like David’: Alpha Nursery and Primary School Akalo Inspires PLE 2026 Candidates
KOLE DISTRICT, UGANDA— Primary Seven candidates of Alpha Nursery and Primary School, Akalo, have been urged to emulate the biblical courage, faith and determination of King David as they prepare to sit the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
The call was made by the Curate of St. James Church of Uganda, Akalo, James Opio, during a dedication service at the school, where he encouraged the learners to trust in God, believe in themselves and remain focused on their academic goals.
Drawing lessons from 1 Samuel 17, Opio reminded the candidates that, just as David courageously faced Goliath despite the odds, they too should confront examination challenges with confidence, determination and faith in God.
He urged the learners not to allow fear and anxiety to undermine their preparation, but to approach every examination paper with calm minds, discipline and a positive attitude.
Meanwhile, the Primary Seven class teacher, Mr. Olila Ambrose, appreciated parents for their continued support and investment in their children's education, describing their contribution as vital to the candidates' preparation and academic progress.
Ambrose expressed confidence in the learners' readiness, saying the school had prepared its candidates and was hopeful of excellent performance in the forthcoming examinations.
Located in Akalo Sub-county, Kole District, Alpha Nursery and Primary School is presenting 42 candidates for PLE 2026, scheduled for early November.
The school is seeking to maintain its reported strong academic performance in the Lango sub-region as its candidates prepare for the transition to secondary education.
Opio also called on parents and teachers to continue providing spiritual, emotional and academic support, while reminding candidates to observe examination regulations and shun malpractice.
His message to the candidates was inspiring: “Be courageous like David, trust God, prepare diligently and face PLE 2026 with confidence. Your future begins with the effort you make today.”
