He Killed & Ate 38 People in Masaka, Ibanda & Kazo. We Will Try Him in Public and Definitely Execute Him – Shock As Gen Muhoozi Announces Arrest Of Serial Killer

Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced the arrest of a man identified as Moses Mujurizi, whom he accuses of killing and eating 38 people between 2010 and 2025. According to Muhoozi, the alleged crimes took place in Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo districts, making the case one of the most disturbing criminal allegations to emerge in Uganda.

In his announcement, Muhoozi expressed satisfaction with the arrest, saying security forces had apprehended the suspect after years of alleged killings. He described Mujurizi as one of the worst serial killers in Uganda’s history and promised that the suspect would face trial. However, the allegations have not yet been established in court.

Muhoozi also made a strong statement about the punishment he believes the suspect should face, declaring that the case would be tried publicly and that the suspect would definitely be executed. Any prosecution and punishment, however, must follow Uganda’s applicable laws and judicial procedures, with the court determining guilt based on the evidence presented.

The reported crimes are said to have occurred across Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo over a 15-year period, from 2010 to 2025. The announcement has raised questions about how many victims may have been involved, how investigators linked the suspect to the alleged killings and whether evidence exists to support the claim that the victims were also eaten.

The announcement has also drawn attention because the Greater Masaka region has previously experienced a number of shocking murder cases. In earlier years, police investigated brutal attacks on families, including the killing of nine members of a family associated with pastor Steven Mugambe in the then Rakai District in January 2013. However, the details of those earlier cases must be distinguished from the latest allegations against Mujurizi.

Previous media reports have also described investigations involving a man identified as Fred Mujulizi, also known as Kulaish Kamugisha, in connection with separate murder cases. It remains important for investigators to establish whether the names and cases mentioned in different reports refer to the same individual before drawing conclusions about the alleged 38 victims.

The latest announcement is likely to intensify public interest in the work of security agencies as they investigate the suspect’s background and any possible links to unsolved murders. Investigators will need to establish the identities of the victims, gather forensic evidence and present any charges supported by the available evidence. Authorities may also face questions about whether earlier reports of similar crimes were properly investigated.

For now, Gen Muhoozi’s announcement has brought the case into the national spotlight, but several details remain unclear, including the evidence supporting the alleged death toll and the status of any formal charges. The suspect’s arrest does not by itself establish guilt, and the allegations must be tested in court. Further information from police, prosecutors and the courts will be important in establishing what happened and ensuring that justice is served.
