Lira MP Auma Builds Strong Base with Germany, Secured Opportunities For Ugandans

Lira District Woman MP, Linda Agnes Auma has lobbied and secured a special visas for health practitioners in Uganda.

Mp Auma has since excelled in her Parliamentary roles, as well as community mobilization for socioeconomic transformation, has again excelled in lobbying lucrative opportunities for the people of Lango and Uganda in Garmany - the success that quickly followed her request to the Bavarian Regional Government of Germany for job opportunities to Ugandans, when she visited Garmany recently.

In her words, "Today Thursday, December 19th, 2024, I led our German Ambassador to the minister of foreign affairs, Hon Henry Okello Oryem, along with colleague Hon. Ojara Mapenduzi, MP Bardege Division, Gulu City. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the offer by the Bavarian Regional Government - that in our previous visit to Germany in October this year upon our request, offered to grant special employment visas to our young people who are trained in medical profession, health sciences, hospitality, Agriculture and engineering. This meeting was intended to chat out a path to actualize these employment opportunities in the pointed sectors above".

MP Auma, also said their meeting with State Minister for foreign affairs, agreed that there would be a follow-up discussion with the German Ambassador to thresh out the details of this bilateral arrangement between Germany and Uganda. 

The meeting with foreign affair ministry was subsequently followed by another meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism ,Wildlife, and Antiquities. 

In this specific meeting, Hon Linda Agnes Auma and colleagues, 

discussed the involvement of the ministry in experditing the actualization of these opportunities from the Bavarian Regional Government in their hospitality and tourism sectors, as well look into how best Ugandan youth can be helped to take up the opportunities. "We have agreed to push for the consummation of this bilateral relationship. We will work relentlessly to do our best to support our Ugandan young generation, who are skillful enough to work in those competitive economies of the Western world," 

Hon. Auma, expressed her gratitude to the Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among who gave them the opportunity to visit Garmany, eventually enabling them to source the remarkable opportunities for youths and citizens of our nation. She is also emensely thankful to their German friends, Mr Rainer and Jacky, and weclomed them to the pearl of Africa.

Hon. Linda who says she will be with this team on Saturday in Lira to visit the health facilities in Lira district and thereafter, visit Jerusalem School of Nursing and Midwifery in Lira , as earmarked for the training of the potential and or selected candidates for these employment opportunities with Bavarian Regional Government, in German language. MP Auma ask the people of Lango to grab these opportunitiethatch will surely help improve their economic status and that of the Sub-region .
