Senior Presidential Advisor Engola Calls On Community to Invest in Education As He Supports Women Group In Barr

Lira, Uganda: The LuoNatives | In a strong message, the NRM Northen VICE Chairperson hopeful, Honourable Sam Engola, explained the critical need for increased investment in education, emphasizing its essential role in fostering a successful and equitable future.
At a community event last Friday, organized by the Myek Women Farmers and Cooperative ltd, Engola articulated that education extends beyond individual advantages.
“Education is the foundation of our future,” Engola stated. “It unlocks potential, reduces inequality, and fosters innovation. As a community, we must prioritize investments in our schools, educators, and students to ensure that everyone has access to quality education.”
Engola’s call to action comes at a time when numerous communities are grappling with challenges such as underfunded schools, a shortage of teachers, and unequal educational opportunities, alongside poor academic outcomes.
The honest Egola also pointed out that these issues cannot be addressed by the government alone. "They require the active involvement of local stakeholders, including businesses, parents, and community organizations."
He also unveiled his intention to convene a meeting with all stakeholders in Erute south to discuss strategies for improving educational standards.
Shockingly, Engola informed the community that one school in their area of Erute South was ranked among the worst in PLE Exams in Lango, attributing this to inadequate support from local leaders for education.
The former minister also donated 1 million shillings to support the Myek Women Farmers Cooperative Ltd, aiming to bolster their economic activities and assist in their initiatives.
While presenting the funds, he contributed an additional 100,000 shillings as a membership fee to demonstrate his commitment to the group, pledging a total of 5 million shillings.
Engola expressed his appreciation to the group and encouraged them to embrace President Museveni’s vision for economic transformation.
About the group: The Myek Women Farmers Cooperative society Ltd is located in Oberoyere, Abunga Parish, Barr Subcounty, is making significant strides.
