Kampala, Uganda: The Independent National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has officially nominated Omar Kanjule as the party's candidate for the Member of Parliament (MP) flag bearer position in the upcoming Lira City East constituency race. Kanyjule, a well-known community mobilizer based in Lira, was officially nominated on Wednesday at the NRM Electoral Commission offices in Kampala .

Addressing journalists in Kampala, Omar Kanjule outlined his vision for the constituency, emphasizing the need for real-time development initiatives aimed at tackling poverty and improving livelihoods. He pledged to prioritize infrastructural improvements, especially the upgrading of local roads to boost transportation and facilitate economic activities in Lira City East. Kanyjule also highlighted his commitment to social issues, specifically advocating for enhanced support and empowerment of widows and vulnerable groups within the community.

"This nomination is a significant milestone in my journey to serve the people of Lira City East. My focus will be on bringing sustainable development, creating jobs, and ensuring that no one is left behind," Kanjule stated.

The nomination process has generated considerable excitement among NRM supporters and local stakeholders, who see Kanjule as a dedicated leader committed to service delivery and community development. In the upcoming NRM primaries for the Lira City East MP seat, Omar Kanjule will face stiff competition from two other aspirants: Francis Okello Opio, a senior advisor in Presidential affairs, and Denis Omodi, an ex-town clerk in KCCA.
