Alebtong Hope Restored As Kenneth Owa Omara Is Successfully Nominated For NRM LCV Chairperson Race.

THE Hopeful Kenneth Owa has reaffirmed his Determination to Uproot the Corruption Trait in Alebtong district As He Is Nominated the Local Council Chairperson’s NRM candidate.
Located in the Eastern Part of Lango sub region, Alebtong district has been swallowed in a pool of corruption; One requires to have at least shillings 5million to secure a recruitment opportunity with the District Service Commission for him or her to be appointed an Enroll Nurse, shillings 2million as a parish Chief and shillings 5million as a Grade III teacher, according to several testimonies.
All these extortions always take place under the watchful eye of the district Chairperson who is overall supervisor of the service delivery in the district.
It’s important to note that; Alebtong district since its curbing from Lira, has had four district chairpersons. From its start, David Kennedy Odongo of UPC party led as the interim Chairperson, who was later entrusted by electorates to extend his service for five years.
In 2016 elections, the district had Denis Johnson Okello as the LCV chairperson up to 2021, before slipping back to Odongo in July the same year.
The good news is that, the electorates of Alebtong district now have the reason to smile after Kenneth Owaa, the current council speaker has been duly nominated by the National Resistance movement Electoral Commission to contest in the party primaries ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Owa who is also a councilor representing Akura sub county to the district secured the nomination as the candidate for Alebtong district LCV Chairperson on Wednesday evening at the NRM party Electoral Commission Offices, located at Plot 13, Kyadondo Road in Nakasero-Kampala.
He was duly nominated by the NRM Electoral Commissioner, Fred Jacan Omach, accompanied by, Zaitun Driwaru, the Regional Elections Commissioner in-charge Northern Uganda.
Addressing the press shortly after the nomination, Owa promised to strengthen the district taskforces at various levels right from the village to the district to supervise and monitor the learning institutions to ensure the improve quality of education.
“I’ll also ensure that all the heads of departments at the district levels, primary school head teachers and deputies that are currently acting are fully approved as substantial to encourage them to perform their duties effectively,’’ Owa noted, adding that this will surely improve the quality of the service delivery in the district.
Improvement of the Health service delivery
In the recently released Demographic Health Survey, Alebtong led in the rate of Sickle Cell disease; here Owaa said, if elected the LCV, his council will embark on serious sensitization to ensure the community awareness is created about the disease to reduce the traits.
Because of the high demand for services and as the result of the population increase, Candidate Owa said he his council will upgrade Alebtong HCIV to the district hospital and increase the number of Doctors, and other HCIIIs like Apala and Amugu to the HCIVs.
Roads Infrastructure
He said he will ensure balanced allocation of resources to handle the road rehabilitation in both constituencies of Moroto and Ajuri to improve the roads network.
Owa who is currently the president the Uganda Local Government Speakers Association promised to ensure the teamwork and foster unity and cooperation among the councilors and technical staff to improve the performance.

· Owaa hails from Akura sub county, Moroto County in Alebtong district.
· He is the current councilor representing Akura to Alebtong district council
· In 2016, he was elected a youth councilor for Alebtong, where he was a Deputy Speaker for five years
· He is the current District Speaker
· Owa holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Public Administration and currently pursuing Masters at Lira University in Lira City.
