JUST IN: UPC Leaders Arrives in Kole to Embark On Grassroot Mobilization a head of 2026 Elections

Kole, Uganda : The Uganda People's Congress (UPC) top leaders have arrived in Kole District to launch a mobilization tour ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The leaders are rallying support for UPC and backing Jimmy James Michael, who has declared his ambition to challenge President Museveni in the upcoming election.

Currently, UPC is gaining traction in Kole, with the former Woman MP for Lira District Joy Atim Ongom emerging as a strong contender for the Kole Woman MP seat now being occupied by Honourable Judith Alyek the chair of Lango Parliamentary Group. Meanwhile, Peter Ocen (UPC) is leading against the NRM candidate in the Kole South parliamentary race according to political experts . 

During the event, UPC President Jimmy Akena is expected to commission a state-of-the-art ambulance, purchased by the incumbent MP, Peter Ocen Akalo. Speaking to this publication, Ocen stated that the ambulance was funded through part of his earnings to enhance healthcare services in the community.

Party leaders have emphasized unity, grassroots empowerment, and the revival of UPC structures at the sub-county level as they push forward their mobilization efforts.

According to an insider in UPC, team will address the public in Alito, Bala sub-county and Akalo as part of their mobilization Campaign.
