MP Denis Hamson Obua: A Visionary Leader, Shaping Lives Beyond Measure In Ajuri and Lango

A tree is measured by its shade, not its leaves." This quote perfectly encapsulates the selfless contributions of Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, the Member of Parliament for Ajuri County.
Denis Hamson Obua (born 6 February 1980), is a Ugandan politician, who serves as the Government Chief Whip in the Parliament of Uganda, a position he was appointed to on 21st July 2022.
Hon Obua officially took on 16th August 2022. He previously served as Minister of State for Sports, in the Cabinet of Uganda, effective 14 December 2019.
He also concurrently serves as the incumbent Member of Parliament representing Ajuri County, Alebtong District
Today, we are publishing his contributions in Ajuri County.
1- Healthcare Advancements
Hon. Obua has made significant strives in improving healthcare services in Ajuri. He successfully lobbied for Alanyi Health III to become Health IV, a notable achievement that has improved healthcare services in the area. Additionally, he organized a health camp at Alanyi Health Center Iv, bringing in specialized doctors to treat various illnesses in Ajuri from that, 74 surgeries were successful conducted and 241 dental issues were handled by medical teams from Updf medical department. Hon obua bought an ambulance stationed at Amugo health lll for easy transportation of patients from different locations within Ajuri to any health facility. Hon obua is also following up to ensure Amugo Health Center III is upgraded to Health Center IV.
2- Promoting Unity and Youth Development
Hon. Obua has also promoted unity and youth development through the Obua Football Tournament, which brings together young people from various sub-counties within Ajuri where he spent to 50 millions in this tournament. This initiative has fostered a sense of community and provided opportunities for young people to develop their skills.
To promote unity, Hon Obua has united all local leaders at district and subcounty level, and this has boosted development in the area like road construction, PDM implementation and supervision.
3- Infrastructure Development
In terms of infrastructure development, Hon. Obua facilitated the construction of several roads in Ajuri, including those connecting Amugo via Amononeno, Alanyi via Amononeno to Angoltok. He also contributed funds for the construction of many bridges in Ajuri, including Ajuri Bridge, okwalomogo Bridge, and a new bridge in Kulo ebong connecting Abako to Amugo town council which he has commissioned recently.
4- Agricultural Development and Education
Furthermore, Hon. Obua contributed to agricultural development in Ajuri, promoting self-sufficiency and food security where he distributed hoes to every household and lobbied for walking tractors in every sub county.
He lobbied for the establishment of seed secondary schools in all sub-counties in Ajuri, except Abako, which already had two government secondary schools .The hardworking Ajuri Mp had also contributed lron sheets to many schools across Ajuri noticeably Awei seed secondaryschool, Angetta seed secondary school, Amononeno primary school to mention a few . Hon Obua of recent has turn his gun on education after realizing that schools in Ajuri and the entire Alebtong are not performing well in PLE. Hon Obua has set up a committee to find out what could be the cause of poor performance in Ajuri in order to derive better solutions for the future of our young ones in Ajuri.
5- Legacy and Impact
In conclusion, Hon. Obua has made numerous contributions to the people of Ajuri across all sectors, earning him the title "Atin Lwak from Amindit." His impact is immeasurable, and his dedication to the community is unparalleled. Hon. Obua is like a big tree with a wide shade, bearing a very sweet fruits that will continue to benefit Ajuri and the entire Lango sub-region. His legacy will be felt for generations to come.
