Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology, Lira, Offers Bursary Slots to Tekwaro Lango to Bridge the Education Gap

 Lira, Uganda – At the residence of His Highness Eng. Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune, the Paramount Chief of Tekwaro me Lango, a delegation from Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology, Lira, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tekwaro Lango to enable students admitted through Tekwaro to study on bursaries. This initiative aims to promote education within the Lango sub-region.

The bursary program, which will run for two years, was explained by George Ojwang Opota, Minister of Education under Tekwaro Lango. According to Opota, each clan will identify potential students through their respective clan heads and submit their names to the Paramount Chief's office for final approval. Opota expressed gratitude to Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology for providing this opportunity, aligning with Tekwaro Lango's mission to promote education.

During the MOU renewal ceremony, Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology’s Principal, Mr. Tom Okao, emphasized that the bursaries are designed to support brilliant students who face financial barriers in continuing their education. The available programs under the bursary scheme include:

Building Construction

Plumbing

Automotive Mechanics

Woodwork

Agriculture and Crop Production

Electrical Engineering

Petroleum Studies

National Higher Diploma Programs:

Electrical Engineering

Principal Okao assured the Tekwaro leaders that these courses are marketable and encouraged them to take full advantage of this opportunity. Beneficiaries will contribute a nominal amount while being exempt from hostel fees under the institute’s financial support policy.

His Highness Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune, the cultural leader of Tekwaro Lango, welcomed this development and commended Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology for their collaboration and commitment to advancing education in the region. Dr. Odongo Okune, an engineer himself, praised the institution for prioritizing science-based courses and urged further collaboration to foster educational growth in Lango.
