Lira District Celebrates the Establishment of Dolika Medical Clinic in Itek Sub-county

Lira, Uganda: The residents of Lira District are rejoicing over the grand opening of Dolika Medical Clinic in Itek Sub-county, Erute South. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform healthcare access in the rural areas of the district.

Established in 2025 by a team of specialized medical professionals, Dolika Medical Clinic seeks to bridge the gap in healthcare services by supplementing the efforts of existing government healthcare facilities. The clinic focuses on delivering quality, reliable, and affordable healthcare to the local community.

Grace Akello, a resident of Alembere in Itek Sub-county, expressed her gratitude for the new clinic. "This has made accessing affordable and reliable healthcare so much easier," she shared. As a mother of five, she highlighted how the clinic's antenatal services have been particularly beneficial for families like hers.

Speaking on this transformative development, Dr. Susan Akoli, the Executive Director of Dolika Medical Clinic, underscored the importance of the facility. "The clinic was established to address pressing community health concerns to reduce the high death rates resulting from the lack of nearby healthcare services."

Dr. Akoli also noted that the clinic is equipped to perform minor surgeries. He added they are supported by visiting specialist medical officers. This effort further solidifies Dolika Medical Clinic's commitment to comprehensive healthcare delivery.
