Kole Voters Reject Propaganda and Bribery, Rally Behind Hon. Judith Alyek in Kole North Parliamentary Race
Kole, Uganda- In a powerful spirit of grassroots support, voters in Kole North have openly rejected political propaganda and attempts at bribery, reaffirming their full support to re-electing Hon. Judith Alyek as their Member of Parliament for Kole North Constituency.
During a community meeting held on Sunday, residents voiced their confidence in Alyek’s leadership, dismissing smear campaigns orchestrated by her opponents. Many described her as a “motherly leader” with a proven track record of service and accountability.
“We are not moved by propaganda or empty promises,” said Betty Àkello, a resident of Amuge Parish. “We have seen Judith’s work firsthand—she listens, she acts, and she cares. This time, we are voting for tangible development, not political noise.”
Community members shared testimonies of Alyek’s impactful initiatives, including the drilling of boreholes to improve water access, distribution of medical equipment to local health centers, payment of school fees for vulnerable students, and consistent support for pregnant mothers and women-led enterprises.
Despite her achievements, voters did not shy away from highlighting ongoing challenges they expect Alyek to prioritize if re-elected. Top concerns include deteriorating road networks, under-equipped schools, and limited access to essential social services such as healthcare and clean energy.
In her address, Hon. Judith Alyek outlined her vision for “Health and Wealth Creation” in Kole North. She pledged to strengthen healthcare systems, improve infrastructure, and launch sustainable economic programs targeting women and youth.
“Leadership is about partnership with the people,” Alyek stated. “I will continue to work directly with communities, support women’s groups with seed funding and market linkages, and ensure that government programs truly reach those in need.”
Alyek is challenging the incumbent, Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti, in what is shaping up to be a closely watched electoral contest. Analysts note that her previous roles—including serving as Chairperson of the Lango Parliamentary Group—have equipped her with legislative experience and lobbying clout, evidenced by her success in securing science kits for secondary schools and advocating for district-level development.
- Hon. Judith Alyek previously served as the Woman MP for Kole District from 2016–2026 and has remained active in community advocacy since leaving office.
- The Kole North race is seen as a referendum on incumbency, with many voters expressing frustration over unmet promises and poor service delivery.
- Alyek’s campaign has emphasized transparency, gender-responsive governance, and grassroots mobilization, contrasting with what supporters call “entrenched politics of patronage.”
- Electoral observers have noted a rise in youth and women participation in this constituency, potentially reshaping voter dynamics ahead of the general elections.
As the campaign season intensifies, Alyek’s blend of maternal symbolism, development-focused rhetoric, and recorded performance appears to be resonating with a electorate eager for change and accountability.
