KOLE, UGANDA — As Ugandans join the rest of the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, Kole North Parliamentary candidate Judith Alyek has delivered a message of unity, love, and peaceful coexistence, calling on her constituents and the nation at large to embrace the true spirit of Christmas.

Alyek, who is reportedly leading in early vote trends against the incumbent, Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti, emphasized that unity and love are essential foundations for sustainable development.

“Without love and unity, neither a family nor a community can grow and prosper. This Christmas should remind us that togetherness is our greatest strength,” Alyek said.

Speaking to the press, Alyek also underscored the critical role of the media in safeguarding democracy. She urged journalists to uphold professionalism, neutrality, and integrity throughout the electoral process.

“I call upon our journalists to remain fair and balanced. Responsible reporting is vital for free, transparent, and credible elections,” she noted.

The parliamentary hopeful expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kole North for what she described as overwhelming support and solidarity throughout her campaign.

“I am deeply humbled by the trust you have placed in me. I urge you to remain peaceful, vigilant, and firm. Do not give in to intimidation or threats. Let us stay focused on our shared desire for positive change,” Alyek appealed.

“We are determined to guard our votes diligently. The people of Kole North have suffered for too long, and we cannot allow that suffering to continue,” she asserted.

Recent opinion polls and reports from the ground suggest growing momentum for Alyek’s campaign, including notable defections from rival camps and reported support from some leaders aligned with the ruling NRM, signaling a shifting political landscape in the constituency.

In her Christmas message, Alyek called on Christians to pray for peaceful elections and national harmony.

She also encouraged families to celebrate responsibly, advising prudent spending during the festive season and emphasizing the importance of saving for the future of their children.

“Celebrate wisely, think about tomorrow, and invest in the well-being and education of our children,” Alyek added.

Her message blended faith, responsibility, and political resolve, reinforcing her call for unity as the campaign season enters a decisive phase.
