Exclusive Article ! Dr. Aceng Leads against Rivals As Lira Compaign Heats UP

LIRA CITY, Uganda! – Amid a crowded field of candidates, the campaign trails in Lira City are being dominated by the catchy tunes ( Aceng Ocero Yin pwodi idok adoka i Parliament) dedicated to the incumbent Woman Member of Parliament, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero.

From morning until night, voters of all ages are seen enthusiastically dancing and singing the song for Dr. Aceng, demonstrating significant popular support for her re-election bid. This public display of affection signals a strong connection with the constituents she seeks to represent once more.

Dr. Aceng continues to attract huge crowds at her campaign rallies, outpacing her rivals. On Saturday, a rally at Owinyo Primary School in Lira City East Division saw a particularly large turnout, with many attendees pledging to return her to Parliament.

Gloria Ajok, a voter  praised the MP for her unique leadership. "I have voted for 3 terms , but the 2021 election was the first time I have truly benefited from my vote," Ajok stated, highlighting Dr. Aceng's impact.

Filled with gratitude, Dr. Aceng thanked the people of Owinyo for their strong support. She assured voters of her continued commitment to their development.

As part of her accountability to the electorate, Dr. Aceng highlighted her achievements, emphasizing her efforts in networking and lobbying for Lira City in key sectors like Health, Education, and Agriculture. She specifically mentioned the construction of new boreholes and the repair of several existing ones, with plans for more in the pipeline and upgrade of Lira Regional standards.

She also outlined her support to different women  groups and youths. 

“Let no one come here to deceive you,” Dr. Aceng cautioned the crowd. “My agenda for Lira City is clear and has been put into action.”

Currently, Dr. Aceng is being warmly received across Lira City, with many voters promising what they call a "block vote" vote in her favor as a reward for her track record of service.
