KARENGA CELEBRATES: DRDC Kedi Ongodia Outlines Top NRM Contributions in Karamoja as Museveni Secures Another Five-Year Term Today

Karenga, Uganda — In a recent address, Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Karenga, Kedi Ongodia, highlighted the significant contributions of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in transforming the Karamoja sub-region.

Ongodia emphasized the developmental progress achieved under NRM leadership, including improvements in infrastructure, health services, and education. He made these remarks on Tuesday, 12th, in Karenga, during a gathering of residents celebrating the historic event of President Museveni’s inauguration and swearing-in.

The NRM administrative secretary, District Police Commander DPC), and Deputy RDC mobilized community members who were unable to witness the swearing-in ceremony in Kampala. Together, they celebrated with the local community, reaffirming support for President Museveni, who was overwhelmingly endorsed by voters in Karenga.

Residents took to the streets to express their joy and support after hearing that President Museveni has officially begun his new five-year term.

The RDC praised the party’s efforts in fostering peace and stability in Karamoja, which have enabled economic growth and community development. He underscored that these achievements are part of the broader national progress driven by the NRM government.

He also mentioned ongoing support for the upgrading of healthcare facilities in the region and thanked the Commander of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his efforts in restoring peace to the area.

Furthermore, he urged residents to embrace the Parish Development Model (PDM) programs to accelerate local development.

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni has officially assumed office for another five-year term after winning the recent elections. His victory marks over three decades of leadership, during which he has been credited with stabilizing Uganda and spearheading numerous development initiatives.

As Uganda embarks on this new chapter, both officials and citizens remain optimistic about continued progress and the implementation of policies aimed at national growth and stability.
