Jubilations Erupt in Alebtong as Museveni Sworn in Office To Continue Leading Uganda
Alebtong, Uganda: Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s official swearing-in for another five-year term sparked widespread celebrations across the country, with residents of Alebtong District joining thousands of supporters in jubilating over the continuation of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) leadership.
Alebtong District, widely known as the home district of prominent government official Denis Hamson Obua, came alive with excitement immediately after President Museveni was officially declared winner of the presidential election and subsequently sworn in as President of Uganda for his seventh term in office.
Residents, NRM carders poured onto the streets, trading centers, and community gathering points waving NRM flags, singing patriotic songs, and expressing their support for the long-serving leader. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as loudspeakers mounted in various parts of the district played songs praising President Museveni and the NRM government throughout the day.
The main celebrations were spearheaded by district leaders, NRM mobilizers, youth groups, and local supporters at the Office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) and the NRM district offices in Alebtong. Hundreds of residents converged at the venues to commemorate what they described as a historic and victorious moment for both the district and the nation.
Speaking to the media, Assistant RDC Lameck Ongom for Alebtong commended the people of Alebtong for what he described as their unwavering loyalty and genuine love for the NRM government and President Museveni.
Ongom urged residents to continue embracing government development programs aimed at improving livelihoods, fighting poverty, and transforming communities. He emphasized that unity, hard work, and cooperation with government initiatives remain essential for the district’s social and economic transformation.
“The people of Alebtong have demonstrated true patriotism and confidence in the leadership of President Museveni. This victory is not only for the NRM but for all Ugandans who desire peace, stability, and development,” Ongom said.
He further noted that the district remains optimistic that the new term of leadership will accelerate ongoing government projects, including road infrastructure improvements, healthcare services, education programs, youth empowerment initiatives, and wealth creation campaigns.
According to Ongom, the continuous singing and public celebrations witnessed across Alebtong were a clear sign of the community’s appreciation for Museveni’s leadership and the progress achieved under the NRM government over the years.
Many residents expressed hope that the renewed mandate will bring more investment opportunities, better service delivery, and enhanced economic growth to the district and the country at large.

As celebrations continue in different parts of Alebtong, the mood among supporters remains one of optimism and confidence that the district will experience sustained peace, stability, and development under President Museveni’s continued leadership.
