One Day You Will Become Victims of Muhoozi- Ssemujju Nganda’s Warning to Anita Among and Gen Elwelu Finally Happens

A video of a parliamentary exchange from May 2025 has resurfaced, bringing renewed attention to a warning former Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda directed at former Speaker Anita Among and retired Lieutenant General Peter Elwelu. During the heated exchange, Ssemujju cautioned the two leaders that they could one day find themselves on the receiving end of actions by Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Ssemujju made the remarks while discussing Elwelu and the treatment he had reportedly received from Muhoozi. He reminded the retired general of an earlier incident in which the CDF had allegedly referred to him as a “buffoon”, using the incident to question the treatment of senior military officers.

The former legislator's argument was that holding a powerful position or enjoying a good relationship with influential people did not guarantee permanent protection. He warned that those who appeared safe at the time could eventually become victims themselves.

His remarks were directed at both Elwelu and Among, who was presiding over the parliamentary proceedings. Ssemujju appeared to be cautioning them against assuming that their positions or standing within the establishment would always shield them from possible future disagreements with Muhoozi.

Among responded during the exchange with the statement, “At least for me, I am not a victim,” suggesting that she did not consider herself to be among those facing the treatment Ssemujju was describing.

The exchange has attracted renewed attention because Ssemujju's warning is now being revisited in discussions about the subsequent developments involving the people he addressed. His comments have become a talking point among Ugandans who are watching how political and military relationships can change over time.

The resurfaced video has also reignited debate about the influence of powerful individuals, the security of those holding public positions and whether political loyalty can guarantee lasting protection. Ssemujju's central message during the exchange was that no one should assume they are permanently beyond the reach of changing circumstances.

For many viewers, the most striking part of the video is the warning itself and Among's response. What began as a parliamentary disagreement in May 2025 is now being revisited as an example of how Ssemujju cautioned both Among and Elwelu about the possibility of one day becoming victims of Gen Muhoozi.
