Kololo- LPG Chair Judith Alyek Hails Museveni as East Africa’s Pillar of Peace and Prosperity
Kampala, Uganda: In a deeply emotional and visionary message, Hon. Judith Alyek, the outgoing Woman Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Lango Parliamentary Group has described the inauguration of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni not simply as a constitutional ceremony, but as a historic reaffirmation of Uganda’s resilience, unity, and faith in transformative leadership.
“This is more than a swearing-in ceremony,” Alyek declared. “It is a reaffirmation of our collective hope, our stability, and our belief in a peaceful and prosperous Uganda.”
Her remarks painted President Museveni as more than a political leader. To Alyek, he represents continuity, peace, and the enduring spirit of nation-building that has guided Uganda through decades of social, economic, and political transformation.
Museveni as a Regional Statesman
Hon. Alyek praised Museveni as a peacemaker whose influence extends far beyond Uganda’s borders, describing him as a father figure not only to Uganda but to the wider East African region. According to her, the President’s long-standing commitment to regional cooperation, security, and diplomacy has positioned Uganda as a stabilizing force in East Africa.
“He is perhaps the greatest father of East Africa,” she stated. “His leadership has consistently promoted peace, dialogue, and unity across the region.”
She emphasized that Uganda’s relative stability has enabled economic growth, attracted investment, and strengthened regional trade partnerships, creating opportunities for millions of citizens. Alyek noted that peace remains the cornerstone upon which sustainable development is built.
Hon. Alyek further described the President’s new five-year mandate as a decisive chapter focused on fighting corruption, empowering ordinary citizens, and accelerating wealth creation programs at the grassroots level.
According to her, the next phase of leadership must prioritize household incomes, youth empowerment, agriculture, industrialization, and local entrepreneurship.
“This is the time to transform hope into harvest,” she said passionately. “Every Ugandan must now become part of the journey toward economic transformation.”
She highlighted government initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods through parish development programs, infrastructure expansion, and support for small-scale farmers and business owners. Alyek argued that economic empowerment is the true path toward national dignity and self-reliance.
Drawing from her own experience as a leader in Northern Uganda, Alyek reflected on the transformation witnessed in the Lango sub-region during the period between 2021 and 2026. She credited the NRM government for improving roads, expanding educational opportunities, strengthening healthcare services, and reviving local economic activity.
For years, she noted, communities in Lango longed for inclusion and development. Today, she believes the region is witnessing visible progress because of deliberate government intervention and political stability.
“Peace is not merely the absence of war,” Alyek explained. “Peace is when children can go to school, farmers can access markets, and communities can dream again.”
She further applauded ongoing government investments in infrastructure and social services, saying they have restored confidence among citizens and renewed hope among young people seeking a better future.
Widely recognized for her dedication to community mobilization and grassroots engagement, Hon. Alyek has remained one of the most vocal champions of government programs in the Lango sub-region. Political observers often credit her with strengthening party structures, promoting unity, and mobilizing support for national development initiatives.
Throughout her tenure, she has consistently advocated for service-driven leadership, urging leaders to prioritize the needs of ordinary citizens above personal interests.
As celebrations continued across the country, Alyek’s message carried a broader national significance. She urged Ugandans—especially the youth—to embrace patriotism, hard work, and unity as essential ingredients for national progress.

To her, President Museveni’s continued leadership represents not a return to the past, but an opportunity to consolidate peace, deepen development, and unlock Uganda’s enormous potential.
