Fire Brand Collins Angwech Sets for Swearing-In as Kyoga County Member of Parliament On May, 13
Amolatar, Uganda — On Wednesday, Government will begin swearing-in of Members of Parliament elected to the 12th Parliament, with ceremonies scheduled to run from Wednesday through Friday, May 15, 2026, in Kampala.
Among the first group of legislators to take the oath of office is Hon. Collins Angwech, the Member of Parliament-elect for Kyoga County Constituency in Amolatar District.

According to her team, preparations for the ceremony have been completed as Angwech prepares to officially assume office and begin her parliamentary duties.
Speaking to this publication, Hon. Angwech confirmed that her swearing-in is scheduled for May 13, 2026, in Kampala. She described the event as both a personal achievement and an opportunity to advance development initiatives for the constituency.
> “This is a great moment not only for me, but also for the people who entrusted me with the responsibility to represent them,” she said.
Across Lango sub-region, Angwech is widely regarded as a visionary and people-centered leader committed to improving livelihoods and championing community development.
Her victory was particularly notable as she emerged successful in a highly competitive race against three male candidates, becoming one of the few women elected in a directly contested parliamentary seat.
Residents of Kyoga County credited her victory to her maturity in leadership, issue-based campaign manifesto, and commitment to results-oriented service delivery.
Before joining active politics, Angwech was involved in several community empowerment initiatives aimed at fighting poverty. Through her education and non-governmental organization initiatives, she has supported vulnerable communities, particularly in the areas of education and social development.
Although she subscribes to the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party, supporters describe her as a leader who embraces inclusive development regardless of political affiliation.
