Lira, Uganda:- Farmers and livestock keepers in Lira and the entire Lango have received a major boost following the official opening of Kony Lee veterinary Drugs Shop, a new veterinary outlet dedicated to improving animal health and agricultural productivity in the region.
The shop, founded by veterinary specialist Dr. Ngole Isaac Lameck, was officially launched with the aim of providing affordable, high-quality veterinary medicines, livestock supplements, and professional animal healthcare services to farmers across Northern Uganda.
Dr. Ngole said the initiative was established to address the growing need for accessible veterinary services and reliable animal drugs among local farmers, many of whom struggle to obtain proper treatment for their livestock.
> “We are committed to helping farmers protect and improve their animals through quality veterinary medicines, professional guidance, and modern livestock management practices. Healthy animals lead to better production, improved incomes, and stronger food security for our communities,” he said.
The opening of the shop is expected to ease the burden farmers often face when sourcing genuine veterinary medicines, a challenge that has contributed to livestock diseases, reduced productivity, and economic losses in many farming communities.
In addition to supplying veterinary drugs, the shop also plans to provide advisory services on animal nutrition, disease prevention, breeding, artificial insemination, and modern livestock management techniques aimed at improving productivity among cattle, goats, pigs, poultry, and other farm animals.
Dr. Ngole Isaac Lameck brings extensive academic and professional expertise to the veterinary field. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Makerere University, a Master’s Degree in Preventive Medicine from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Breeding from UFV University, and professional certification in Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination from Switzerland.
Local leaders and agricultural stakeholders welcomed the establishment of the business, describing it as a timely investment that will contribute to livestock development and strengthen agricultural productivity in the region.
