Dr. Musa Lumumba Unveils Vision for Eastern Uganda Ahead of NRM Vice Chairperson Bid

Soroti, Uganda/ The Luo Natives: As Uganda’s political landscape heats up ahead of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) internal elections, Dr. Musa Lumumba, a prominent figure in the ruling party, has joined the race with a bold vision for the Eastern Region.
Dr. Musa a renowned lawyer and former youth leader is his media address, promised transformative leadership anchored in unity, development, and grassroots empowerment.
He also Pledged to champion agro-industrialization in the area since majorities of the community are farmers.
Addressing unemployment, the former youth leader urged youth to use their farm land for wealth creation.
Infrastructure & Service Delivery –
He criticized the slow progress on roads, hospitals, and schools, promising to push for faster implementation of government projects. “Eastern Uganda deserves better connectivity and healthcare,” he asserted.
With a history of youth advocacy, Lumumba pledged to expand skilling programs and financial support for young entrepreneurs and women-led enterprises.
Amid factional tensions, he called for reconciliation, urging NRM members to focus on President Museveni’s legacy of stability. “Our strength is in solidarity, not division,” he stressed.
Lumumba’s bid faces competition from seasoned politicians, but his grassroots appeal and articulate vision have energized supporters. Analysts note his ability to blend technocratic insight with political pragmatism—a trait that could reshape NRM’s Eastern wing.
As campaigns intensify, all eyes are on whether Dr. Lumumba’s message will resonate enough to secure him the seat—and a chance to turn his vision into reality
