Alebtong, Uganda, Eng Samuel Okwir Odwee, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Moroto County, has called to members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Alebtong and Lango to embrace peaceful elections.

He urged all party members to actively participate in their internal elections and to elect capable leaders, strictly adhering to the guidelines set by the NRM electoral commission.

Recognizing the importance of peaceful elections, Eng Samuel Okwir Odwee delivered a heartfelt message to his community, supporters, and fellow leaders. He emphasized that the true strength of their district and party does not solely depend on election outcomes but on maintaining harmony, unity, and friendship among all members.

He stated, “Let us come together as one family, putting aside differences and embracing peace. Elections are like the rains that nourish the soil—they help us grow stronger and better. But just as rain must fall gently to avoid washing away the plants, our elections must be peaceful and respectful.”

His words resonated throughout Moroto County and beyond, inspiring community members to conduct themselves with kindness, understanding, and patience. Eng Samuel Okwir Odwee urged everyone to remember that after the votes are counted, they will still be neighbors, friends, and members of the same community, united in purpose.

He also took this opportunity to speak to the party structures and voters to elect someone who will promote party activities, and mobilisation.

As a staunch supporter and active member of the NRM, Okwir advised that leadership qualities should be prioritized over academic qualifications when selecting leaders of the party, emphasizing that the NRM constitution does not require candidates to possess specific academic credentials, urging voters to consider attributes like integrity, dedication, and service.

Currently enjoying widespread support from the NRM ahead of the party primaries, Eng Samuel Okwir Odwee also rallied support for President Yoweri Museveni. He called on all Moroto voters to remain loyal and supportive of the NRM government, emphasizing that unity and continued backing of the party are crucial for national progress.

As the electoral process approaches, Okwir’s message remains clear: peaceful, respectful elections and unity are the keys to strengthening Moroto, Alebtong, and Uganda as a whole.
