King James School Of Nursing and Midwifery, Lira Welcomes New Admission Grade As they Opened July Intake Admission

Lira, Uganda: In a significant development, the Ministry of Health, through the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB), has agreed to adjust the admission requirements for nursing and midwifery schools across the country.
Following an appeal by principals of various nursing and midwifery institutions, the minimum grade requirement for admission has been lowered from C to D in key subjects, including English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology.

Mr. Dickens Odongo, Director of King James School of Nursing and Midwifery, welcomed this decision, stating, This move will open up opportunities for many students who may have been excluded due to stringent requirements. We believe this will enable more individuals to pursue their dream careers in nursing and midwifery.
The adjustment in admission requirements is expected to increase accessibility to nursing and midwifery programs, potentially addressing the shortage of healthcare professionals in the country.
King James School of Nursing and Midwifery, renowned for its excellence in both practical and theoretical aspects, will commence its diploma programs in August, particularly for students advancing from certificate courses.
We are excited about this development, and we believe it will have a positive impact on the healthcare sector in Uganda.
