HOPE FOR TRANSFORMATION: Ogwang 'Medmac' Nominated For Amolatar LCV Race.

KAMPALA UGANDA: THE Uganda People’s Congres (UPC) party has finally nominated Patrick Ogwang alias Ogwang Medmac to run for the primary elections ahead of the bigger battle for LCV of Amolatar district. 

Ogwang, a Master’s Degree Holder, with versed experience in the community mobilization, got nominated by the party Electoral Commission at the headquarters on Monday morning.

Much as his nomination has caused fear among the candidates other parties and even opponent within the UPC, but the residents are excited, refereeing to him as a ‘savior’ whose agenda is purely pro-people/electorates.

Addressing the journalist Monday evening, Ogwang expressed gratitude to his party UPC for nominating him officially, noting that key priority in his agenda if elected, will be the rehabilitation of Dokolo-Ocero-Amolatar road to that has been cut-off two years ago, crippling the business and access to other services.

He says his leadership will bridge the gap between the electorates, political leaders and the technocrats in Amolatar district and that it will be an inclusive government that will leave no one behind when it comes to implementing policies to enhance the livelihoods of the people.

Improvement of the access to clean water source is one of the key areas Ogwang said he wants to address as the LCV under the UPC ticket.

If elected the LCV, he says he will ensure the Lira University Institute of Fish is established on the land recently issued by the local government and that he will ensure the children of Amolatar are recruited to work there as well as scholarship opportunity is benefited by the true natives of the area.

Deeply rooted with proper understanding of the challenges faced by the community of Amolatar, Ogwang is determined to hold the UPC flag and assume the LCV position mandate with ease in the general elections set for February next year, to rescue the electorates from the leadership dilemma.

·         He intends to Elevate of Amlatar HCIV to a district hospital stocked with essential medical equipment and filling the staffing gap to ensure the health needs of the community is addressed.

·         Ogwang is also determined to uproot the corruption channels within Amolatar District Local Government to enable the services delivery effectively benefit the intended voters.

·         Immediate after his election to the position of the LCV, Ogwang commits to engage with the government to review the policies on the fishing on the lakes to reduce on the attacks and standoff between the natives of the area and the Fisheries Protection Unit.

·         Improvement of the Education Service delivery through revamping the historical schools like Alemere and to enhance the level of the performance not only in those but also in seed schools.

·         Still under education, Ogwang intends to collaborate with the local CSOs and other government and international agencies to improve the infrastructural development in schools to motivate the learners and the staff to work hard, hence improved performance in both primary and secondary schools.
