Renewed Hope As UPC’s LEO ELEM Is Dully Nominated For Moroto County MP Race

ALEBTONG, UGANDA; THE Electorates of Moroto County in Alebtong district, have been left excited following the nomination of Leo Elem to contest for Moroto Mp seat elections.
On Monday July 14, the Uganda People’s Congress Electoral Commission officially nominated Mr. Elem to run for the primaries to hold the party flag ahead of the parliamentary elections of January 2026.
Located in Alebtong district-Lango sub region in Northern Uganda, Moroto is one of the constituencies that has suffered staggering representation in parliament for the last nine years.
Besides that, the community have been complaining of poor service delivery ranging from challenging road networks, disease challenges due to poor health service delivery and growing poverty as well as unemployment among the youth.
There is also serious drop in the level of education with children poorly performing in the national examinations results, among other issues that have left the electorates yarning for quality leadership.
In a sample survey done in the sub counties in the greater Aloi, Apala, Abia and Alebtong Town Council, locals have expressed need to elect Elem, believing his arrival in the political arena, will surely bridge the leadership gap in the area and the staggering representation at the Parliament.
Elem in his message of change, promised to priorities education through teachers motivation and improvement of the learning setting up accommodative infrastructures in the schools in the area.
Being a highly celebrated educationist in the region, he believes if elected Moroto Councty MP he will organize seminars, workshops and tours for the teachers as a way of encouraging them to concentrate.
Hailing from Alebtong Town Council, a professional teacher from a humble background, Elem has promised to lobby for more funding to improve the road infrastructure in the district in addition to supporting the faith through tirelessly supporting the church developments.
During his five-year turn, a UPC strongman intends to cause the upgrade of the lower health Centre in the district to enable such facilities address the health needs of the community.
In both opposition and NRM Party, the dedicated youthful politician stands a chance of reclaiming the UPC territory by defeating the incumbent which is currently an NRM member.
