Breaking; LANGO Delegates Complain of Poor Facilitation by Calvine David Echodu, Pledged Support to Cpt. Mike Mukula for Eastern NRM Vice Chair

Lira City, Uganda —A section of NRM Delegates from the Lango Sub-region have voiced strong concerns over alleged inadequate facilitation by Calvin David Echodu a prominent NRM politician, as he campaigns for the position of NRM Regional Vice Chairperson Eastern region.
During a meeting held at Tasha hotel in Lira City on Saturday, each delegate was given a transport refund of 100,000 Ugandan shillings. However, delegates from districts such as Amolatar, Otuke, and Oyam have expressed dissatisfaction, arguing that the amount is too low and does not cover the current transport costs.
Sources within the party and local stakeholders revealed that many delegates feel neglected and under-supported, citing that the logistical resources allocated for campaign activities are insufficient. "We expected more support from the candidate to mobilize and engage our members effectively, but the facilitation has been quite low," remarked a delegate who preferred to remain anonymous. He further explained that the transport fare from Amolatar to Lira City via public means is approximately 70,000 shillings, while on a private means transport costs can double to 100,000 shillings.
Echodu, a notable figure within the National Resistance Movement (NRM), recently announced his bid for the regional vice chairmanship of the Eastern region. However, his campaign in Lira and surrounding districts is reportedly facing challenges due to limited resources and logistical shortcomings.
Party members and local leaders have urged Echodu to address these issues, emphasizing that proper facilitation is crucial for the success of his campaign and for maintaining unity at the grassroots level. As the NRM regional elections draw near, campaign logistics and resource support are expected to play a pivotal role in determining the level of delegate support.
One delegate from Kwania District expressed disappointment with Echodu's campaign team, stating, “ He is ready to welcome and endore capt Mike Mukula. Despite attending his campaign meetings, we feel that Echodu lacks a clear agenda and cannot fully represent the voice of party members.”
Observers suggest that unless these logistical challenges are addressed promptly, they could negatively impact Echodu’s chances in the upcoming elections.
However in his compign, Calvine Echodu stated his ambition is to bring development to the party structural leaders not promises.
People don't eat promises, we need action, and i am coming for action not promises, he stated.
