Lira, Uganda : Hon. Sam Engola has emerged victorious in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries, securing the party's nomination for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Erute south. The primaries, held on July 17th, featured a competitive race among several aspiring candidates.

Engola, a seasoned politician with a strong track record of service, garnered broad support from party members and local constituents alike.

In his victory speech, he expressed gratitude for the confidence shown by voters and committed to continuing his efforts to promote development and improve the welfare of Erute south. I am honored to receive the NRM nomination and will work tirelessly to represent our people and fulfill our promises,” he stated.

The primaries represent a crucial step toward the general elections, with political analysts predicting a strong showing for Engola, given his experience and popularity in the region.

As the campaign season kicks off, all eyes will be on Engola as he prepares to face opposition candidates in the race for Erute south ’s parliamentary seat.

However, his rival, Abdul George, claimed that the election was not free and fair, alleging that his supporters faced intimidation during the process.

Moses Okello, the NRM District Registrar for Lira District, announced the official results, confirming that Sam Engola received more votes than Abdul George.
