Lira, Uganda: The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results, revealing a notable rise in the number of candidates and significant improvements in various subjects.

During a ceremony at State House, Nakasero, attended by the Minister of Education and Sports, Parliamentarians, and other stakeholders, Prof. Celestino Obua, Chairman of UNEB, reported that the examinations, held between November 11 and December 6, 2024, assessed 1,294,731 candidates across three examinations.

In the Lango sub-region and beyond, Wisdom High School in Kole District has emerged as a top performer, producing six students with 20 points in both arts and science streams.

Addressing the media at the school in Akalo Sub-County, Kole, the school's director, Mr. Ambrose Ogwal, attributed the success to the unwavering commitment of both teachers and students. He stated that all their students passed exceptionally well, qualifying for university admission under both private and government sponsorship.

The outstanding results sparked celebrations at the school, as parents, students, and teachers gathered in jubilant anticipation. As a faith-based institution, students at Wisdom High School expressed their gratitude to God for the remarkable achievements.

The following students topped the national performers' list with 20 points:

Odongo Daniel – Arts

Tamali Adoi – Science

Akello Loyce – Arts

Owidi Leone Howard – Arts

Okuta Jallam Benzamin – Arts

Obia Oscar – Science

The second-best performer achieved 19 points, while the majority of students scored between 18 and 15 points.

According to the Chairperson of Examinations at Wisdom High School, the institution recorded notable progress compared to previous years. Out of 220 students who sat for the exams, an impressive 96% passed successfully.

This publication has also learned that its closest competitors, such as St. Gracious Secondary School, Mentor S.S, Light Vocational Secondary school, Faith Secondary and King James Schools both in Lira City also relatively performed.
