Kole, Uganda — Last week, Wisdom High School in Kole hosted a grand Thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate academic excellence and community development. During the event, Ambrose Ogwal, a trained secondary school teacher and the school's CEO, along with his proud wife, Dr. Linda Ogwal, a lecturer at Lira University, received heartfelt praise for their significant contributions to promoting education in Lango and across northern Uganda. Their efforts have alleviated the burden on parents and communities in seeking quality education for their children.

The celebration was further amplified by the presence of Rev. Johnson Ogema, overseer of Victory Outreach Ministries, a prominent Pentecostal church in Uganda. In his speech, Rev. Ogema commended the Ogwals for their visionary investment in education, which is now bearing fruit.

“I want to thank God for using you to invest in education alongside your wife, Dr. Linda Ogwal. This school is not only producing academically excellent students but also nurturing their spiritual growth,” he said.

Rev. Ogema seized the opportunity to urge parents to trust in God and invest in their children’s education. He also congratulated the successful UACE and UCE students of Wisdom High School, encouraging them to persevere and recognize that their efforts will lead to greater rewards.

“Never give up. Keep pushing forward, because there is a bigger reward awaiting you,” he advised.

In addition, Fred Jalmeso, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Ajuri in Alebtong District, also expressed gratitude to Ambrose Ogwal for his bold leadership and impactful contributions to the community through education.

“As a teacher myself, I appreciate your dedication. You have turned challenges into results, and I urge teachers to continue believing in themselves. Teach with purpose, not just for the sake of teaching, but to achieve impactful results,” Jalmeso emphasized.

Wisdom High School, established by committed educationalists from humble beginnings, has become a beacon of academic excellence in northern Uganda. The school has maintained a consistent record of outstanding performance in UNEB examinations. In 2025, the school achieved remarkable results, with eight students scoring a perfect 20 points in both arts and sciences streams—setting new records and proving that top-tier performance is achievable outside Kampala and Western Uganda.

Addressing the parents, Ambrose Ogwal expressed his passion and vision for the school's growth. “A good school must be under the leadership of qualified educationalists who understand the concept of quality education,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of building a team of dedicated professional teachers who value the future of their students.

Ogwal also highlighted infrastructural development as a key factor in enhancing performance. “Parents should be mindful of the quality of facilities and avoid overcrowding by admitting more students than the school can accommodate,” he advised.

He unveiled plans to establish a mini stadium to promote sporting activities, recognizing the role of sports in holistic student development.

During the event, Ogwal awarded cash prizes totaling 41 million Ugandan shillings to top-performing UACE and UCE students, as well as outstanding subject teachers. These incentives aim to motivate other students and the community to embrace the value of education. He praised the students for their discipline and urged them to maintain their good spirit.

Wisdom High School’s establishment has significantly contributed to bridging the enrollment gap at higher levels of education by producing many candidates who continue to excel nationally. The school’s commitment to academic and character development continues to shape the future of northern Uganda.
