Lira City, Uganda — The atmosphere at Brooks Pre-School in Lira on Friday last week was filled with joy, laughter, and vibrant colors as young learners gathered to celebrate Colors Day. This special event was not just about fun; it was a heartfelt celebration of creativity, diversity, and the boundless imagination of children.

The little preschoolers dressed in bright, colorful outfits—many in red, in recognition and learning the fruits, foods, and any red colored item that they interact with on a daily. Their faces lit up with smiles as they also engaged in lively color-themed games that encouraged teamwork, sharing, and self-expression.

Ms. Sandra Adongo, the dedicated Lead  teacher, shared her excitement about the day. “Colors Day is a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about diversity and express themselves freely. Seeing their faces light up as they explore, makes me so proud. It’s more than just a celebration; it’s a lesson in unity and confidence,” she said with a warm smile.

The teachers and staff joined in the fun, cheering on the children’s performances and colorful displays. The event created a warm, inclusive environment where every child felt valued, inspired, and happy to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Adding a tasty twist to the celebration, the children also experienced a variety of continental foods, with some cuisine featuring the color red among others. It was a delightful way to incorporate learning about different cultures and colors through taste and smell, making the day even more memorable.

As the celebration drew to an end, the children’s faces glowed with satisfaction and joy. Joyous echoes resounded through the school compound and the learners packed home beautiful memories that will inspire them for years.
