Lira, Uganda : Denis Alyela Omodi continues to receive overwhelming support in Lira City as he embarks on the village to village campaign to canverse for votes to hold the NRM flag in 2026 Parliamentary elections.
On Friday, the indomitable Alyela met the party supporters in Ongura and Iwal in Lira City East B, City East division, where voters promised to kill him with votes, saying he (Alyela) still remains the only candidate in the race whose manifesto directly targets the community.
Addressing hundreds of the voters at the two venues, Alyela emphasized the need to improve the standard of the livelihood of the people by eradicating poverty through Skilling programs that will keep electorates busy in the money economy.
Before even being elected, the former Kampala Central Division Town Clerk offered 70 vocational training opportunities to the youth of the area, starting their training next week in Deno School of Catering, Tourism & Hotel Management.
In addition to that, Alyela commissioned a team of mechanics to repair all the broken boreholes in the area that for long suffered poor hygiene limited access to safe water for drinking under the watchful eye of the current area Akena Jimmy.
If elected MP of Lira City East, Alyela promised to join efforts with the current Woman MP and Minister of health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero Ceng Atedero, to establish a health centre in Iwal to address the health care needed of the population and reduce the burden of travelling kilometers to access the services.
Additionally in the Education Sector, the MP Hopeful promised to revamp the seed school which is currently limping and make it a centre of skills training. He also gave five footballs to the youth to promote sports and socialisation.
At least three candidates are currently traversing Lira City East Division to the canverse for votes ahead of the NRM primary elections which is scheduled for 17th. July. As the campaign continues, the battle line has been drawn with Denis Alyela experiencing massive support from not only part members but across the political parties, a sign that he can put off the candle of the opposition after a decade of tenure with no tangible benefit to the electorates.
