Apac, Uganda: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged to significantly enhance the health sector in Apac District, promising the introduction of new health facilities, upgrades, and essential equipment as part of his government’s development agenda for the next term.

During his campaign rally in Apac on Friday, Museveni highlighted the progress made under the NRM government in expanding health services across the district. He noted that out of 12 sub-counties, 10 now have operational health centers, and one hosts a government hospital, with only two sub-counties remaining without health facilities.

The President emphasized that despite past challenges, his administration has laid a strong foundation for improved social services. He credited the NRM’s commitment since 1986 to revitalizing Uganda’s economy and infrastructure, which has paved the way for better health outcomes.

He also announced that the anticipated oil revenues, expected to begin next year, will provide additional resources to further develop services in districts like Apac without diverting funds from other projects.

“With this oil money, we will be able to develop all these roads and health facilities without having to take from one project to fund another,” Museveni told the enthusiastic crowd.

Encouraging the people of Apac to re-elect him and the NRM, the President stated that these health investments are part of a broader strategy to lift families out of poverty and promote national prosperity.

He outlined specific upgrades: in Akere Division, Health Centre II will be upgraded to a Health Centre III; in Atik, a new Health Centre III will be built; in Maruzi, the existing Health Centre IV, which already has doctors, will be supplied with an ambulance; and in Maruzi North, Atongtidi will be upgraded to a Health Centre IV, Museveni announced.

After concluding his rally in Apac District, President Museveni proceeded to Kwania, where he received a warm endorsement from the community. Notably, Ogwal Adyebo, a prominent UPC leader and current Chair of Kwania, publicly rallied massive support for Museveni.

Addressing the gathering in Kwania, Museveni, the NRM Presidential Candidate, pledged to allocate funds to support graduates, emphasizing his government’s commitment to youth empowerment and economic .

President Museveni’s focus on health sector improvements aligns with his broader vision of transforming Uganda into a self-reliant and prosperous nation. His promises to enhance healthcare infrastructure are complemented by ongoing efforts to improve education, roads, and access to clean water, all aimed at fostering sustainable development in regional districts like Apac. The community’s strong endorsement signals widespread support for his leadership and the NRM’s developmental agenda moving forward.
