Boniface Pule, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Administrative Secretary for Amolatar District, has strongly refuted allegations that he embezzled millions of shillings and went into hiding, describing the claims as false, malicious, and aimed at damaging his reputation and the unity of the party.
In a statement released to the press, Pule dismissed reports circulating on social and local media that accuse him of mismanaging party funds and allegedly fleeing the district to avoid accountability. He maintained that he remains fully available and committed to his duties, insisting that there is no factual basis to the accusations leveled against him.
“I have neither embezzled party funds nor gone on the run,” Pule said. “These allegations are completely untrue and are being driven by individuals with personal and political agendas who are seeking to discredit my work and sow division within the NRM.” adding thatnis not on the run and ably discharging his duties.
The allegations have also attempted to link Pule to the failure of NRM candidates in recent elections, including Peter Okodo of Kyoga North and Patrick Adupa Ongwec of Koga County. However, Pule rejected claims that his role as administrative secretary had any bearing on the electoral outcomes, noting that elections are influenced by a wide range of factors beyond party administration.
“It is dishonest to scapegoat one individual for election results,” he stated. “Campaign outcomes depend on voter dynamics, candidate strategies, grassroots engagement, and broader political conditions. Blaming me is a convenient but inaccurate narrative.”
Pule emphasized that during his tenure, he followed established financial procedures and worked closely with party structures to ensure transparency and accountability. He challenged his accusers to present verifiable evidence to relevant authorities instead of relying on rumors and public speculation.
“I welcome any lawful audit or investigation,” he added. “My records are clear, and I have nothing to hide. If anyone believes there was wrongdoing, the proper channels are open, and I am ready to cooperate fully.”
Police Denies hunting for Pule
Attempts by The Luo Natives to speak to the head of criminal investigatios at Amolatar Central Police Station did not yield fruits but another CID officer who is not authorised to speak to the media said she was not aware of the case adding that even if the case reported doesn't mean that Pule is guilty.
Amina Akello distances herself from the case
This publication also made efforts to reach out to ao Amina Akello - Amolatar District NRM finance officer who is alleged to have been among the complainants who originated this case against Pule said she wasn't aware of anything as such.
"Please leave me out of this ,and tell whoever is using my name for their political gains stop because I am not interested" she said
Local NRM supporters who spoke to this publication cautioned against the spread of unverified claims, warning that internal disputes risk weakening the party at a time when unity is critical. Some described the accusations as part of ongoing internal wrangles following the elections.
Political observers in the district have also urged calm, calling on party members to resolve disagreements through dialogue and established mechanisms rather than public confrontations.
As the controversy continues to generate debate, Pule reiterated his commitment to the NRM and to serving the people of Amolatar District. He appealed to the public to disregard what he termed as “baseless propaganda” and to allow truth and due process to prevail saying the 249m was for party activities and he never took any single cent of it for perosnal gains.
