POLITICS ASIDE: EBENEZER UNIVERSITY OFFERS ADMISSIONS FOR GRADE 111 TEACHERS TO UPGRADE THEIR ACADEMIC STANDARDS

Lira, Uganda; Ebenezer University, a leading private university in Northern Uganda, has extended an opportunity to Grade III teachers who have not upgraded their academic qualifications in line with the National Teachers’ Policy requiring teachers to attain Bachelor’s degrees, to enroll for diploma programs at the institution.

Ebenezer University is located in Amuca, Lira City in Northern Uganda.

Speaking during an address, Mr. Richard Okullu, the Chief Executive Director of the university, revealed that tuition fees have been reduced to accommodate teachers amid the current economic challenges and encourage more educators to pursue further studies.

“We are aware of the economic situation affecting many teachers and families. That is why the university has decided to reduce tuition fees so that more teachers can access higher education and improve their professional qualifications,” he said.

Mr. Okullu appealed to teachers to make good use of the opportunity and ensure they are not left behind as the education sector continues to implement reforms aimed at improving professional standards in Uganda.

Okullu also added that the University has introduced engineering courses to address the burden in science education.
