Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery Intensifies Mobilisation for January 2026 Intake as UHPAB Exams Conclude

Kole District, Uganda– As the Uganda Health Professionals Assessment Board (UHPAB) examinations draw to a close this Friday across the country, the management and Board of Directors of Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery in Kole District have intensified efforts to mobilize prospective students for the July 2026 intake.

The institution, which has built a reputation for academic excellence in Northern Uganda, is calling upon parents, guardians, and aspiring health professionals to seize the opportunity and enroll in its upcoming intake for Certificate programmes in Nursing and Midwifery.

Speaking about the development, school authorities expressed confidence in the performance of the current candidates who are completing their UHPAB examinations this week.

“Our students are concluding their examinations on Friday, and we are optimistic that they will once again register excellent results. Over the years, Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery has consistently performed well in national examinations, which reflects our commitment to quality training and professional excellence,” a school administrator said.

The administration noted that the institution continues to attract students from different parts of Northern Uganda and beyond due to its experienced tutors, conducive learning environment, practical training opportunities, and commitment to producing competent health workers.

As the demand for qualified nurses and midwives continues to grow in Uganda and across the East African region, school leaders encouraged young people who have completed their secondary education to consider pursuing careers in the health sector.

The Board of Directors further appealed to parents and community leaders to support students who wish to join the medical profession, emphasizing that healthcare remains one of the most marketable and rewarding career paths in the country.

“We encourage parents and guardians to bring more students to Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery. The health sector needs dedicated professionals, and our institution is ready to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and values required to serve communities effectively,” the management stated.

The July 2026 intake is expected to attract a large number of applicants as the school continues to strengthen its position among the leading nursing and midwifery training institutions in the Lango Sub-region.

Education stakeholders have also welcomed the school's continued efforts in expanding access to professional health training, noting that increasing the number of qualified health workers is crucial for improving healthcare service delivery across Uganda.
