Fr. Aloysius Secondary School, located in Bala sub-county, Kole District, has actively embraced patriotism classes as a transformative initiative to enhance discipline and academic performance among its students.

Speaking to this publication, the dedicated headteacher of Fr. Aloysius Secondary School, Morish Okunu, confirmed the success of the program. He explained that students have undergone extensive training in patriotism lessons, resulting in noticeable improvements in their behavior, leadership skills, and academic achievements.

Okunu emphasized that students who have completed the patriotism course exhibit exemplary discipline, heightened civic awareness, and a strengthened sense of national pride, which positively influences their studies. He further noted that the initiative is not limited to Fr. Aloysius Secondary School but has been widely adopted across Kole District. As the chairperson of the Kole Headteachers’ Association, Okunu expressed his satisfaction, revealing that the majority of schools in the district have embraced the presidential initiative on patriotism education, citing its far-reaching benefits.

The patriotism curriculum is structured to instill discipline, foster unity, and nurture a strong sense of national identity among students, encouraging them to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to their communities. The course includes lessons on leadership, community service, national history, and ethical decision-making, ensuring students develop a well-rounded perspective on their roles as future leaders.

Today, Fr. Aloysius Secondary School was among ten schools that successfully completed the latest patriotism training session at Akalo Secondary School, marking yet another milestone in the district's commitment to shaping young minds through patriotism education.

Meanwhile, Honourable Andrew Moses, in his address to the media, acknowledged that incidents of student strikes at the school have significantly reduced due to the introduction of patriotism classes.
