Entertainment; Great Singer Okeng Born Town Unveils Unlucky Lango Singers Whose Hits Can't Cross Karuma Bridge, LiL Squre & Mr. Dee Named
Kampala, Uganda: Renowned Northern Uganda music star Okeng Born has sparked controversy in the local entertainment scene with his candid critique of artists in the Lango region. In a recent video, Okeng passionately criticized musicians in Lango for producing weak songs that fail to go beyond Karuma Bridge and other parts of the country.

Expressing his frustrations emotionally, Okeng pointed out that artists like Lil Square and Mr. Dee have completely failed to deliver educative and quality music that can make a lasting impact. He revealed that, in his opinion, there are only four genuine hit songs from Lango—by himself, Coco Fingers, and Brazen—while many others are just artists struggling to survive.
Okeng also took a shot at the lifestyle choices of some artists, accusing them of spending too much time on drugs and alcoholism instead of focusing on their craft. He lamented that such behavior has prevented many from collaborating with Uganda’s top music stars and gaining wider recognition.
Despite his efforts to mentor and uplift some artists, Okeng admitted that many have failed to grow or succeed in the industry.
This isn’t the first time the Lango music scene has faced criticism. Previously, rapper Prince Jubu also publicly stated that there are no notable artists coming from the region.
Attempt to get comment from Lil Squre and Mr. Dee were not successful.
However, on Unity Fm radio, during a popular show hosted by Dr. Cool Aka Dj Boss, Lil Squre openly told his funs that his Brother Okeng Born Town has been fighting him and at the family.
He accused Okeng Born Town of being a jealous singer who doesn't want to see a brother coming up.
