Alebtong Focus: BA Public School Aims for 100% First Grade Passing Rate as It Dedicates Its 97 PLE Candidates

Alebtong, Uganda! BA public school, Alebtong has officially dedicated its entire cohort of 97 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates for the 2025 academic year to God. 

The move, dubbed the "Class of 2025 Dedication Ceremony," signals the school's unwavering mission to deliver quality education and achieve record-breaking results.

The ceremony, held on the school grounds, was a vibrant event attended by parents, teachers, local leaders, and the 97 candidates themselves. The event centered on a pledge from the school administration to provide every resource necessary for the candidates' success.

In his address, the school Director Mr. Benard Acedo laid out an ambitious vision. "Today, we are not just naming a list of candidates. We are making a public covenant with our community. These 97 young minds are our priority. We are committing to a target of not just a 100% pass rate, but a 100% pass in First Grade. We believe that quality education is not a privilege, but a right, and we are dedicating ourselves to making that right a reality for every single one of these children."

He further thanked the leadership of Alebtong District for always supporting them in promoting education.

Mr. Acedo also himself, an experienced educationalist outlined the importance of parents' involvement in promoting education.

Parents played a great role in promoting education by paying school fee, inspiring and notivating their children to go to school.

This confidence, he explained, is backed by a multi-faceted strategy implemented over the past year. Key initiatives include:

· Enhanced Teacher Development: Regular, intensive workshops for PLE subject teachers focused on the latest curriculum and exam trends.

· Personalized Academic Support: The introduction of "Scholar's Clubs" for extra lessons and one-on-one mentoring for candidates needing additional help.

· Parent-School Compact: A formalized agreement encouraging greater parental involvement in their children's revision and well-being.

· Provision of Essential Materials: The school has committed to ensuring every candidate has access to crucial past papers, revision guides, and a conducive learning environment.

Student and Parent Voices Echo Commitment

The dedication ceremony resonated deeply with the candidates and their families.

 One of the PLE candidates, shared her enthusiasm: "Knowing that the whole school is behind us makes me feel strong and focused. We are not alone in this. We are ready to make our teachers and parents proud and to prove that BA public school can be centers of excellence."

Debra Acan, a school head girl said praised teachers and parents for being close to them and made an assurance of the great success.

Denis Okello one of the parents who spoke to this publication , expressed her relief and support: "As a parent, this dedication gives me confidence. It shows the school is serious. We will play our part at home to ensure our children have the peace and time to study. This is the kind of partnership we need."

The journey for the 97 candidates has now been formally sanctified. As they embark on a rigorous year of preparation, the entire community of BA public school watches with anticipation, united behind a single goal: to see each of these 97 dedicated candidates cross the finish line in 2025, not just as passers, but as top achievers.

The 2025 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) in Uganda will begin with the briefing on Friday, October 31st, 2025, according to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB). 

The exams themselves are scheduled to take place on the 3r and 4th of November, 2025.

While wishing candidates of BA public school, Apala town council, Alebtong, Hon. David Kenedy Odongp, the chairperson LC 5 of Alebtong District thanked BA Public School for their commitment and contribution in the development of the district in education sector.

He pleged, as district to continue supporting the school program

Hon. Odongo also urged candidates not to be fearful but to remain calm as they enter exams room.

BA public school in the previous year was ranked among the best performing schools in PLE perforance in Northern, while in Alebtong, BA Public was ranked best outperforming both private and government schools.
