Ajurians Endorse GCW Obua as Sole Candidate
Denis Hamson Obua has also expressed interest to run for the position of NRM Regional vice chairperson for Northern Uganda and says he is optimistic he will carry the day.

Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua has on Saturday become the first NRM MP to be endorsed as a sole candidate in the upcoming 2026 elections.
Constituents say they are rewarding him for the collosal and immense infrastructual development he has achieved in his current term.
Obua ,also Ajuri county MP received his political blessings on Saturday 19th April 2025 during a meeting of National Resistance Movement leaders and community coordinators in the greater Ajuri held at Baropiro Primary school in Omoro Sub county
The leaders numberin 500 were drawn from the subcounties of Adwir,Omoro,Angeta,Abako,Amugu,Awei and Amugu town council.
They all unanimously resolved that no once should run against Obua in the NRM Primaries.According the recently released road map by the NRM secretariat,primary elections for MPs shall be held in July.
To affirm their descsions,a section of the NRM leaders appended their signatures to showcase their seriousness in in Obua's candidature.
The leaders equally resolved that president Museveni should run as as Sole candidate for the presidency of the country in the 2026 polls.
Rose Alum,a resident of Atwenyi village in Baropiro parish,Omoro subcounty and also the representative of elders in Omoro subcounty said she is fully backing Obua to run as a sole candidate.
"Hamson is a developer,under his leadership we have received four seed schools and Health centers among others and we can't afford to lose him at this material time" Alum told this publication.
Adams Ecoo,the NRM chairperson of Amugu sub county says the county is currently experiencing peace,security and stability because of the leadership of president Museveni and that he needs strong leaders like Obua to help him leadershipa reason both should not be subjected to any internal elections.
Isaac Apenyo ,the LC3 chairperson of Omoro said Obua is a tested leader who is development oriented and and they cannot risk to lose exchange him with any other inexperienced political leader.
While addressing the NRM mobilisers,Denis Obua urged them to go to the community and and preach the good news about the NRM and president Museveni.
Much as he was endored to run as a sole candidate,Obua said he is not afraid of competition.
I have wholehearted embraced your whishes and whims,but if any body wants to dare me in this competition,let him or her come and we shall judge from the race who is Kiprotich,Cheptegei or Akii-bua,Obua unequivocally and assertively declared to the leaders.
He thank president Museveni for identifying him to serve as a minister and said he would use his position to lobby for development projects for his constituents.
If re-ected in the upcoming polls ,Obua will be serving his fourth term as Ajuri county MP.
