GOOD FRIDAY: Lira City Woman MP, Dr. Jane Aceng supports Lira Christian Community With Over 800 Cartons of Water

The Lira City woman MP and Minister for Health Hon Dr JANE ACENG OCERO is a woman of few words but full of action! 

In fulfilment of her duty to the community and being a Christian, Dr Aceng Ocero who could not join the Christian faithfuls physical in a 10km walk of faith, sent her team with over 350 cartons of water to help Christians quench the thirst.

Well customized and branded with the photos of HE Museveni and that of Hon Dr Jane Aceng was meant to replenish, re-nourish and support the spirits of the Catholic and Anglican Christians during the way of the cross walks around Lira City.

Minister Aceng's donation created excitement from the Christians leaving them in total jubilation as they thanked her for always doing what matters to human life. 

"We hear she has been repairing boreholes and wells, just yesterday I heard she is giving us (the women) jerricans but today I have witnessed her unconditional love she has for us,", said one of the faithfuls that had gathered in hundreds to observe the Way Of the Cross Procession.

"Imagine giving water for over 5000 people who were walking from the Catholic Church? This woman is amazing," said Caroline Okallu, a voter from Ngetta Ward, in Lira City East Division.

Unlike her political rival Amongi, who cannot support any person before receiving the photocopy of his or her National Identification card, Minister Aceng's instructions always stood Clare, to support irrespective of the religious or party affiliation, a testimony of true love for humanity that was exhibited at the Lira Cathedral Ordinations ground, where had gathered. 

The leaders of the Catholic Community expressed gratitude thanking Minister Dr Aceng Ocero for providing water for the Christians.

The way of the cross is very significant in the Christian faith as it depicts the long journey to the cross that was borne by our Lord Jesus Christ prior to being crucified on Good Friday. 

In her message relied to the Christians, Minister Dr. Aceng Ocwng called on the Christian community and the entire people of Lira City to use the Easter season to repent and work towards faithful living.

"Let us follow the steps of Jesus Christ and put love amidst suffering as Jesus did thousands of years ago. You may be suffering today but remember Jesus suffered and was resurrected three days, later," Minister Aceng. She called upon the Christians to look up to resurrection with Christ on Sunday and forgive one another.

Minister Aceng equally gave hundreds of the cartons of water to the Anglican Community that had gathered to observe the Way of the Cross at Lira City Mayor's Garden.
