Kampala, Uganda |June 2, 2025 — the political atmosphere in Dokolo District buzzed with anticipation as aspiring Women Member of Parliament, Arao Rebecca, took a decisive step toward her parliamentary bid. On Monday, Arao Rebecca officially picked up her nomination form at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party headquarter in Kampala, signaling her official entry into the race. The enthusiastic candidate, speaking exclusively to this publication, outlined her agenda focused on transformative development for Dokolo District.

The atmosphere was charged with optimism as Arao, flanked by supporters and party officials, completed the first formal step toward joining the 2026 parliamentary race. She was dressed in NRM’s signature yellow attire, and she expressed gratitude to the party leadership for fostering an inclusive political environment.

She will now embark on consultations and campaigns ahead of the NRM primaries. Her message resonates with a call for unity: ”Together, we can build a Dokolo that thrives in opportunity and progress.”

We’re ready to rally behind her," said Sarah Aceng, a vendor in Bata Town. Youth groups and women’s associations pledged grassroots mobilization, viewing Rebecca as a beacon of change.

Local supporters praised her proactive approach, citing her track record in community initiatives. Political analysts note her bid could energize the race, given her development-focused pitch.
