No One Can Doubt The Fearlessness Of PLU, As Everyone Got Scared Of NUP, We Rose & Defeated Them- Gen Muhoozi Tells
Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has praised members and supporters of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), describing them as courageous and fearless in the face of political challenges. He made the remarks while highlighting what he considers the organisation's determination to stand firm when others were afraid.
In a statement, Muhoozi expressed confidence in PLU's courage, honour and determination, saying its members had demonstrated their willingness to stand their ground even under difficult circumstances.
"No one can doubt the fearlessness, courage and honor of PLU! When everyone else was scared we rose up and defeated the terrorists of NUP. Long live Christ the King!" Muhoozi stated.
His remarks also contained strong criticism of the National Unity Platform (NUP), which he referred to as terrorists. The description represents Muhoozi's own political characterisation of the opposition party and was not accompanied by further details in the statement.
The message appeared intended to celebrate what Muhoozi views as PLU's strength and contribution during a period of political competition. He used the statement to reinforce his belief that the organisation had demonstrated courage when faced with challenges.
Muhoozi's praise also places attention on the relationship between PLU and its supporters, who have been encouraged to remain committed to the organisation. His remarks reflect the political differences between PLU and NUP, two groups associated with different political positions in Uganda.
The statement concluded with a religious expression, "Long live Christ the King!" adding a Christian message to his declaration of support for PLU and its members.
His latest remarks are likely to attract reactions from supporters of both organisations, particularly because of the strong language used against NUP. However, Muhoozi did not provide specific details about the events or circumstances he was referring to when he claimed that PLU had risen up and defeated its opponents.
