Lira City Businessman Pius Olam Steps Forward for NRM Entrepreneurs League Chairmanship

Lira, Uganda: Pius Olam, a prominent and enterprising businessman from Lira City, has declared  candidacy for Chairman of the NRM Entrepreneurs League – Lira City. Known for his practical leadership, job creation, and grassroots impact, Olam is one of the most influential mid-level business leaders in Lango and Northern Uganda.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Olam expressed his readiness to contest in the party elections. "I have consulted with my fellow NRM party members, and they have assured me of victory," he confidently stated.

Who is Pius Olam?

Olam is the founder of Champion Winers Ltd, a fast-growing beverage company that produces wine and soft drinks using locally sourced raw materials. He also owns Kingston Oil Petroleum Station and runs a thriving real estate business, contributing to urban growth and commercial expansion in Lira City.

Through his ventures, Olam directly employs over 260 people and indirectly supports more than 400 others, making him a significant player in Northern Uganda’s job market. As a hands-on farmer, he deeply understands the challenges and aspirations of ordinary citizens and is committed to strengthening local value chains and agro-industrial development.

Olam has mobilized entrepreneurs across the region to embrace the ruling party’s agenda of wealth creation, youth and women empowerment, and private-sector-led growth. Now, he aims to bring his energy and experience to the NRM Entrepreneurs League in Lira City, offering strategic leadership, access to market opportunities, mentorship, and stronger networks for local businesses.

Addressing the media, Olam emphasized his belief in enterprise as a tool for transformation. Under his leadership, he envisions the League growing into a force for inclusive prosperity, innovation, and sustainable development.

According to analysts, Mr. Olam is widely regarded as the favorite to win the election.
